I visited with my family including my 85 year old mother and two kids. This hotel offers you everything that you would expect from a luxuriour property. Very well-behaved staff members and they ensure to keep you happy right from the check-in to check-out. Enough parking space, excellent location, spacious and well decorated reception area, on-time service, very good breakfast, mini portions that give you opportunity to try everything. I recommend this hotel for everyone who is looking for excellent service.

An unexpected trip and a beautiful two days at this clean, elegant, friendly, home away from home property. Situated in a rather quite part of Ududpi, this pure vegetarian hotel has all the facilities you need. The rooms are bright, clean and relaxing. Wide corridors and the most pleasant staff.
The three restaurants are good but the coffee shop my favorite. Loved the breakfast spread and the best part, all portions are mini, so you get to taste everything. Special mention to the bell desk staff, the reception & restaurant staff who play and do multiple jobs. Three cheers.

Staffs are very helpful and welcoming. Food is good.
Furniture and Fixtures are good and comfortable.
They dont have 24hrs in room service. So if arriving late night post 10pm then speak to the hotel staff beforehand they will help you with food delivery and options at late hours.
Nearby partner restaurant Pakshala serves tasty food.

Samanvaya is simply class. Their hospitality is out of the world. Most importantly, do not miss their breakfast. It is a pure veg restaurant and you get to savor some of the unique dishes. Located on the main road about 200 meters after the arch, it is easy to locate. Overall - its excellent.

Went with my parents for a visit to Udupi Krishna temple. Large and clean rooms, welcoming and helpful staff great food. what else do you need?
They accommodated a checkin at 11:30 itself for my old parents. They serve complimentary local delights at 4PM with Tea which is a welcome gesture. The breakfast was well laid out and quality was great.
Special recommendation to the staff. Starting from the security guard outside, reception, dining room etc are trained very well and they treat the guests very well.
MTR, Paakashala is within the building. Near to Temple, and famous resturants like Woodlands, Diana are also near by.

The breakfast served is unique and has local flavour. Hot food is served on your table apart from a laid out fare. Will recommend this property though bring a non vegetarian it was little awkward but their service level and overall package wowed !!

One of the best places to stay when at Udupi!! The rooms were good with WiFi and TVs. The staff was helpful, and the morning breakfast spread was amazing. Highly recommended. Beaches are a few mintues drive away and we it's close to the famous Krishna temple (5 mins drive) too. Murudeshwar was around 2 hrs from this place.

we were very pleased with this hotel. The women at reception on arrival were wonderful. They are very pleasant, efficient and accommodating. If we had a need, they found a way to fulfill it. The addition of an afternoon high tea at 4:00 was very nice. Breakfast was good as well. The room was comfortable and everything seemed to work properly, with great Wi-Fi connection.

Samanvay Boutique Hotel is Truly what Luxury Value Hotel needs to offer.
We visited Udupi after a gap of few years for Sri Krishna temple Darshan and also to cover few scenic places around here. Having travelled from Bangalore and spending few days at Sakleshpur Machaan resorts which was also good, our experience here been excellent be it stay, Yummy food and overall experience. Buffet breakfast been of amazing taste and quality with some Unique coastal delicacies.
From starting with checking into hotel, Mr Robin (Hotel manager) service is like One man Army who helped with unloading our luggage, checkin process, Room demo, Food service during breakfast, as local guide advice.
Kudos to Samanvay Boutique hotel for having assets like him.
USP of this Hotel is not just being excellent in Hospitality but also having a renowned MTR restaurant part of its Hotel along with its proximity to Udupi SriKrishna temple.
Definitely deserves to be Top Hotel in Udupi for any kind of travellers.

Samanvay is a good hotel, clean, convenient to go to the Udupi temple. Staff are polite, helpful. Rooms are clean, but make sure the AC works well as soon as you check-in. Since the windows cannot be open, a sub-par AC will make you feel suffocated. We first got a room where the AC was not working, and it took quite some time to get our room changed. Food at the hotel is strictly average. You can try the MTR right in front of the hotel.

Clean rooms & very helpful and courteous staff. Breakfast options were good and MTR just in front of the hotel makes all meal times enjoyable! 10 - 15 mins drive to temple, easily accessible from highway. Overall good experience! Will recommend for families. No pool though.

Liked · The hotel is located about 3.2 kms from the Sri Krishna temple - a short ride by auto-rickshaw. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. Every request was attended to and every query was answered politely. The breakfast was an excellent spread. Dosai was offered every morning freshly made, as was tea and coffee. The room was spacious, the bathroom was modern and clean, and the room was well fitted out, including a kettle, and tea bags, bottled water etc. were replenished daily. The food menu for room service was very good and reasonably priced. The MTR restaurant located down below was a huge bonus. The overall ambience was pleasing, as was the neighbourhood. I'd strongly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit and stay in the Udupi region.

It's a good hotel with basic amenities. We stayed twice at the hotel during our road trip.
The hotel location is excellent. There are two good restaurants next door, including an MTR. The Krishna temple is 8-10 minutes drive away.
Rooms are what you would expect in a good budget hotel. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was modern and clean. Staff is friendly. The buffet breakfast had decent spread - something for everyone.
I deducted one star from the rating because both times, the AC in our room was not working. It took some time to fix.
Other than that, we had a pleasant stay.

A clean and modern hotel with spacious and well fitted out rooms. Staffed by warm and welcoming people with a great sense of service and support for your needs. We were not visiting Udupi under happy circumstances given a serious condition and subsequent demise of a parent, and the staff from the manager to the doorman made us so comfortable and were very supportive, so much so we visited twice and would not want to stay anywhere else in Udupi.

Squeaky old bed in a luxury suite, defeated the whole purpose of staying there.
Which was also next to the service elevator. And near the passenger elevators, which meant constant noise and the bathroom was actually shaking from the noise.
AC was initially not working either. Room Service had limited hours, no dry cleaning available.

I really liked this hotel and their hospitality. I would specifically like to mention the care and concern shown by the Duty Manager at this hotel when my daughter wasn’t well and she needed medical help. Even the next day morning he not only enquired about the health of my daughter, but also suggested some tips for her to get well soon. I would like to use this platform to thank the Duty Manager (I don’t know his name) from the bottom of my heart.

Its a lovely boutique hotel that offers modern and comfortable rooms. We were greeted by the hotel reception with a welcome drink and hot wet hand towels. It was such a relief after a long drive. The hotel is quite nicely located close to the highway and also close to the Krishna temple.
Good stuff:
- The rooms are quite big with most comfortable beds
- Very clean linen and the toiletries are from Biotic
- Breakfast: They serve satwik veg breakfast (no onion and garlic). Breakfast was quite tasty. There were options for english breakfast (sans non-veg and cutlet) with bread, jam, cereals, cut fruit etc. too.
- Hotel staff is quite helpful. They suggested us to take an auto rikshaw to Krishna temple, instead of going in our own car. I must say it was the best thing we had done. It saved us time, money and effort (managing car parking in temple area is quite a big task)
- I was pleasantly surprised by the the practice of lighting Dhuna(Guggal/Indian frankincense) in the evening at the reception lobby

Everything about the hotel is perfect. We have visited so many places and hotels, Samanvay does not stand any less than a 5-Star hotel in regards to spacious rooms, hospitality and service. Complimentary breakfast buffet is just so good. They check on you while you eat and serve you before you run out of food on your plate. All the food items in the hotel are pure Satvik food[no onion no garlic] which was perfect for us to visit KRISHNA. Though we have MTR just beside the hotel we preferred taking food here only. They have detox water in the lobby. It is really refreshing when you come in from the scorching sun in Udupi.
Spacious rooms, neatly maintained and even the toiletries kept are of premium quality.
From giving us a good advice in booking our rooms online to receiving us with a cold towel early in the morning to seeing us and our luggage off after 3 days to arranging an excellent taxi to visit Kollur and Murudeswar....we were assisted mainly by Mr. Chennakesava and everything was just perfect. Just 5-10 mins away from KrishnaMutt, autos are available as soon as we step out.
From the door man to everyone in the lobby...the female receptionists, the lobby managers, everybody is courteous and so hospitable. (I regret not knowing their names to mention them here)

A boutique hotel in Ududpi? Yes and impressive one too. The room was very nice comfortable furniture and obviously kettle and tea and coffee. The bed was very comfortable and the linen clean and fo good quality. This road trip was 4 nights out and we spent 2 nights here in Ududpi and all of us slept the best at Sanamvay. Sleep quality was good, in fact very good. This is so important and many hotels do not offer such sleep quality as this.
Breakfast is provided by the Hotel in the premises but for lunch and dinner you have to walk across to MTR in the Ground Floor and Saffron a vegetarian restaurant in the fourth floor. The breakfast had a limited menu, thankfully, vegetarian only but tasty and neat and hygienic.
The attached restaurants MTR and Saffron offer a good menu and tasty, hygienic food, MTR is South Indian while Saffron offers a wide variety, though while we were there we were informed that one of their chefs responsible for Italian and Mexican was not available so.........
The staff are eager to help but I do hope management will provide intensive training to those in house keeping and specially the ladies at the Reception.
We wanted milk early in the morning and the immediate response was NO, then it took about 10 minutes of talking to get the GMs number and he readily agreed to our request and Yes we did get fresh milk on the days we were there, early in the morning. The whole experience would have been better if the Lady at the Reception, just said Yes. Also when we stepped out in the evening, it was raining rather heavily and we were told that we could collect umbrellas form the Reception. When I approached the desk the lady looked at me and turned around and said give him ONE umbrella knowing well that there 4 of us.
I am sure training will take place and the staff will be better and more helpful.

I stayed here for 1.5 days at this place with family. And this place really lives upto its #1 hotel rating (in Udupi).
Pros:
1. Clean, well maintained spacious rooms
2. Beautifully done-up property interiors, it is comparable to what most 5-star hotels offer at a 3x price
3. Peaceful location, away from the hustle of the temple city centre but easily accessible.
4. Great breakfast spread. There is also MTR restaurant available downstairs. So food-wise you are sorted if you stay here.
Cons:
1. No room service. This is a let-down for a property of this standard, especially when you are travelling with kids. You would want the odd snack / meal / milk to be delivered to your room and this hotel is too under-staffed to provide this.
2. Billing confusion. We had booked via Expedia and had paid for extra guest. However, when we requested for extra bed they initially refused saying it is chargeable and argued that they haven't charged for the extra person so I need to pay for the extra bed. It took a lot of convincing and explaining the Expedia charges to tell them that we had indeed paid for the extra person. Such an experience is avoidable.

This was our fourth stay at Samanvay Hotel Udupi and an update of my earlier review of the same hotel.
We stayed for four days and three nights and I am delighted to find that the hotel has maintained its high standard.
Ms. Shashirekha, Mr. Robin, Ms. Ashwini and their team deserve a lot of credit for all the good reviews that Samanvay Hotel gets. They are at hand or ensure that someone is always there to respond to the guests at all times, During check in, there was a pile up of guests. The team led by Mr. Robin with his multilingual skills ensured that the tired and sometimes impatient guests were attended to promptly and agreeably.
The Buffet breakfast continues to be tasty and wholesome. The two restaurants on the premises, MTR 1924 restaurant for South Indian food and Saffron for North Indian food are incredibly convenient. The elegant decor and ambience continue to be well maintained. This reviewer could not find anything wanting in the hygiene and covid protocols.
The rooms continue to be well appointed and the bathrooms spotless and in very good working condition. The management could probably polish the wood and leather in the room. The leather seems a bit frayed and old while the wood in some places bears scratch marks. Although very minor, they are immediately noticeable because the rest of the room is quite faultless. Wi-if connections are quick and fast.
All in all, Samanvay still remains an excellent option.
A request to guests - the managers and staff at Samanvay are most responsive and accommodative to the guests. That said, it is also only right that guests maintain proper etiquette, manners and decorum and DO NOT make unreasonable demands of the staff and the hotel.

From the initial interaction with Shashirekha during the booking, to the entire staff once we arrived, we had the impression of a crew that cared about its guests and went out of the way to make sure we were comfortable.
Any request we made was met with a smile and taken care of without fuss. The highlight of our stay was the delicious and healthy Satvik food - especially the range of local delicacies served during the morning complimentary breakfast.
The deluxe room we stayed in was spacious, luxuriously comfortable, clean, and neat.

Having stayed in some of the best places in the World, personally I would rate the breakfast at Samanvay as the best that I have had. Reminds me of the food from my Grandpa’s place with its authentic taste with each dish surpassing the previous one. Did not see the menu being repeated across the 3 days that we stayed. Moreover, the folks at the reception, restaurant are very friendly and eager to assist.
We have stayed here a few times and will continue to do so in the future.

Very good hotel reception was welcoming we didn't have a booking as we booked at other hotel which was near the temple and cancelled as that one was very bad. We took 5 rooms all were good clean spacious and aesthetic. The complimentary breakfast was very good they have a variety of dosa that I can order and they cook it live and serve the hospitality was excellent. Overall a very good experience.

“Rigid staff at the reception who gave us grief when we arrived ” Check in: We came to the hotel late in the evening after traveling the whole day and the staff at the reception gave us so much grief. They made the check in experience horrendous. It looks like they try to avoid a check in via some Apps and try to convert the reservation into a walk in to prevent any commission from being paid to the Apps.
Facilities: Though the facilities looked very nice at the Hotel, many of the amenities were not working. We couldn't charge our phones as the plug points were not working in the rooms. We had to call the reception 4 times before they reluctantly sent someone to fix them. To be fair the issue seemed to be with the person at the reception as the technician fixed the issue and got all the power points working. The same happened with the central Air con. Restaurant: The Cherry on the top was MTR where the food was lovely. We had breakfast at the restaurant and found it very normal. The staff at the restaurant / coffee shop were very courteous. Location: The Hotel is close to 2 Kms from the centre of the city. However we had to take a Auto to get into the Krishna temple as the car parking was blocked and heavy traffic.
I would rather book at a different hotel the next time we are in Udupi. My original choice was Radisson in Manipal but chose this hotel due to the location. We had to spend just 1 night over here and we had a horrendous treatment at the reception by the staff after a long journey which spoilt the good vibes of the very enjoyable trip. Many thanks to the non courteous hotel staff at the reception.

The experience was great. Loved the hotel ambience and the stay. Only issue was that the snack time experience was not pleasant. We were told to come down by 4 to 4:30 and a minute late my kids were denied any snacks. Anyways perhaps the service could be more customer friendly.
But the hotel was a excellent stay - shout out to Sudhakar who helped around with luggage and getting parking sorted. He was there to help around.

This property is an excellent hotel, just off the highway, on the main road to Udupi. It has all 4/5 star like facilities, rooms are spacious, king bed is comfy and bathrooms are with excellent facilities. The evening complimentary tea/coffee with snacks is crowning on the glory. Only -ve thing is that the Receptiin doesn't allow you any early check-in, not even if you arrive at 1 pm though the regular check-in time is 2 pm, even if the hotel has minimal occupancy. Service and staff otherwise are extremely top notch and ever helpful. Restaurants MTR and Pakshala in the hotel premises are too good to miss. However, if you expect any view from your room, you will be utterly disappointed. I feel this is the best property to stay in Udupi.

Samanvaya offers bed and breakfast with Satvik breakfast options (food with out garlic and onion) especially for devotees coming to visit Udupi the temple town. Staff is very courteous and professional. House keeping and room service is very good. Rooms are spacious with great ambiance. The temperature control of the AC is also quite comfortable. Apart from these the Krishna Temple is less than 2 km from the hotel. Though the hotel is on the main road is quite insulated from any noise. I have been here more than twice and recommend this for a great experience.

The service is top-notch whether it is the food or the cleanliness or the facilities provided. I had an amazing experience staying there. It is pretty close to nearby temples too.

Great place to stay if visiting Udupi. Started with family and had own transport so was able to visit most popular beaches and places.

It is easily one of the best places to be at ! Everything about the hotel is gold ! It includes food,service,hospitality and any other parameter you could consider. Sattvic food is a rarity, this place serves ideal home-like sattvic food for breakfast and in-room dining. The location is close to all major attractions and presence of two major restaurants in the vicinity just adds to the value. Overall experience is top class and would love to visit again ! If there was 6 stars in the rating check-box, would have opted for that, will be content with 5 for now !

This is located little away from hustle of city. Quite and safe at same time. Rooms are spacious with all necessary amenities provided. Switches are all digitised . Breakfast option though serves local and veg and sattvik is still very deliciois and pure. They provide evening snacks from 4 pm to 4.30 pm which is again local delicacies with tea is a delight for customer (complimentry) . This offering is rare and i have not seen any hotels providing it anywhere. These small efforts add lot value to the hotel. Staffs are all v courteous and service standards are very fast. Loved my 4 night stay here and i highly recommend this place. Krishna temple is also approx 2 km away from here which is another advantage. There are few near by temples too and kaapu beach is approx 10 km from here. Thank you for the hospitality. Only thing which I felt could be better was lighting in the room. I felt lighting was mild and rooms could b more bright. Hotels just besides is MTR for South Indian dishes and PAAKSHAALA for North indian dishes along with in house cafe on first floor. In room dining facility available upto 10 pm only. Overall wonderful experience. Thank you

Good rooms at a great price. That’s why I booked this place for my parents attending a wedding in Udupi.
But I’m here to leave feedback about how the hotel treated my senior parents’ checkout request. It is standard practice in the hospitality industry for guests to request for a flexible check out time. Most hotels accommodate this request if they aren’t running full or some would levy a small charge.
Samanvaya did neither, they made the guests feel unwelcome. The hotel resorted to numerous ways to force them out of the hotel - numerous calls to the room, housekeeping came over to clear out the room even before they left and the bell boy was hovering around them to pick up their bags, much before they were ready. Really? All this for a few hours?
Sad. I wish the hotel was a tad more considerate towards their age and situation. Would I choose this hotel again? I doubt.
